2013 OC Throwdown: Winners Announced

The OC Throwdown was held last week in California, with thousands of people heading to Costa Mesa to check out the CrossFit event.

Plenty of big names took part in this year’s event. Former CrossFit Games Champion Kristan Clever, Talayna Fortunato and Katie Hogan headlined the female division, while Neal Maddox, Tommy Hackenbruck and Gabe Subry all competed in the Men’s half.

Here are the final leaderboards for both divisions:

Men

After two tough days of competition, it was Kenneth Leverich who claimed the men’s title.

The 17th place finisher at the 2012 CrossFit Games was the dominant performer all weekend, finishing top 3 in four of the six workouts. Although he didn’t actually win an event, he finished 17 points ahead of Neal Maddox in second place.

Hacks Pack UTE coach Tommy Hackenbruck finished 7th, while fellow CrossFit veteran Peter Egyed finished 12th.

Other notable competitors include Jared Stevens (13th), Zach Forrest (14th), Guido Trinidad (2oth) and Gabe Subry (27th).

Women

Dual CrossFit Games Lindsey Valenzuela claimed the females crown after a spirited comeback, which saw her win the final four workouts.

The 9th place finisher at the Games last year was well outside the top ten after struggling in the opening two events, but fought back brilliantly to beat Allesandra Pichelli by 7 points. Christy Phillips rounded out the podium.

Despite going into the event as one of the favourites, former Games Champion Kristan Clever finished in 7th position, after placing 34th in the opening workout.

Other notable competitors include Andrea Ager (6th), Jenn Jones (8th), Talyana Fortunato (9th), Becky Conzelman (10th), and Katie Hogan (11).
