The 2014 CrossFit Games saw a large number of rookies take part with 19 male and 19 female athletes competing for the first time in the individual competition.
Mat Fraser was probably the most impressive rookie, finishing overall in the men’s half, while a number of other first timers, including Noah Ohlsen and Lauren Fisher, also put in impressive performances during the week in Carson, California.
Games Director Dave Castro spoke briefly about the rookies at the 2014 CrossFit Games during a media conference shortly after the final event of this year’s competition.
