2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Open: 12.3 Day One Leaderboards

24 hours into the third week of the 2012 CrossFit Games Open and we find ourselves with new leaders in all major sections.

After two weeks of single exercises, workout 12.3 is the first real combination WOD, and requires athletes to complete 18 minutes of box jumps, push presses and toes to bar.

Going into the workout, it was hard to gauge what a good score would be, but now it appears anything over 500 reps is going to be very competitive.

It’s still very early in the week, with last weeks leaders Rich Froning and Kristan Clever some of the big names still yet to attempt the workout, but here is where the leaderboards’ stands at 5PM Sydney time, 10PM PT.

Last years champ Annie Thorisdottir has moved number one spot on the leaderboard for the first time this Games Open after putting in an impressive performance on the opening day. Her 491 reps wasn’t enough to break the magical 500 barrier, but it is still the best score posted so far out of any female.

In second spot is Emily Friedman (438), with Kristin King (428) rounding out the top three.

Ebony Thomas has been one of the big movers so far in week three, posting the second best score in workout 12.3 with 481 reps to move her to 142nd place overall.

32 year old Nick Scott is the new leader in the men’s section after day one. Hailing out of the North Central region, Scott is another newcomer to the sport with just over a year’s experience behind him.

His 315 reps for workout 12.3 was no where near the highest score total, but with many big names yet to post scores, it’s enough to have him on top of the leaderboard.

The person who has the highest score so far this week is Travis Page, who’s 523 reps has him in second place overall. His score is equal with Andrew Hawkins, and at this stage, they are the only two competitors to break the 500 mark. (Update 13 March 2012 11:30am AEST 17:30 Pacific. It has come to our attention that Andrew Hawkins score has been revised and he did not score 523. After checking the Games site I can confirm he has reposted his score which now sits at 479. Travis Page’s score is still valid. Thanks to our eagle eyed readers for making us aware of this. Cheers Michael)

Last years podium finisher Ben Smith is in third place after posting the third highest score of the week with 482 reps.

It’s always hard to judge the team leadeerboard after day one with so many fluctuations throughout the week, but as it stands, Diablo CrossFit Anejo is in top spot after posting the 51st best score of the week with a combined total of 1469 reps.

CrossFit PB is in second spot, CrossFit WIlmington is in third spot, and with Iceland Annie’s great performance this week, CrossFit Reykjavik has moved to fourth overall.

We can expect all leaderboards to shuffle even more in the next 24 hours as scores continue to be posted. We’ll have another Games Open update posted tomorrow.
