Heading into the 2014 CrossFit Games it was widely speculated this year would be Rich Froning’s last as an individual competitor.
Shortly after claiming his fourth consecutive CrossFit Games title at the StubHub Center, Froning fronted the media about his victory and confirmed he is going team in 2015.
Froning says the ‘time is right’ to step away from individual competition and will hopefully be back competing at the 2015 CrossFit Games with CrossFit Mayhem, his affiliate.
But Froning isn’t the only big name male athlete to leave the individual competition next year, with 3rd place finisher at the 2014 CrossFit Games, Jason Khalipa confirming he too is going team in 2015.
You can check out Froning’s thoughts on moving to the team division in the video above.
