The Pantheon Games set for October 20-21 at the MACC

The Pantheon Games

Competition Combines the Best of CrossFit and Olympic-Style Events:

The Pantheon Games Sponsored by Altrient™ will not be a typical CrossFit competition. So promises the Games’ founder, Ronny Lindsay. As if any CrossFit competition could be called typical. But Lindsay believes the gruelling, two-day fitness fracas on October 20th and 21st at the Miami Airport Convention Center will provide a unique challenge to CrossFit athletes, as well as a unique spectator experience.

“We’re trying to change the mentality of what true athleticism is and testing the CrossFit athlete in a different way,” Lindsay said. “I feel that every time someone holds a CrossFit competition they only test the athlete’s ability to do typical CrossFit movements. So you have these great athletes in CrossFit, but what can they really do outside the Box?”

Therefore, unlike typical CrossFit competitions, The Pantheon Games will merge traditional CrossFit movements with Olympic-style events, featuring four fearsome WODs and two Olympic workouts. According to Lindsay, this combination will provide a true test of overall strength, power, speed, balance, coordination, athletic skill and, especially, endurance. He expects the action to be non-stop.

“The whole idea is to force the CrossFit athlete outside of their comfort zone,” Lindsay continued. “Sure they have the explosive strength, but can they long jump? Most CrossFit athletes have never done that before. We announced this event two months ago so they could practice.”

Lindsay hopes the sport of CrossFit will embrace his revolutionary ideas. He wants The Pantheon Games to establish the new standard for all CrossFit competitions.

As usual, the CrossFit community has risen to the challenge. Thus far, more than 300 competitors have entered The Pantheon Games, including CrossFit heavyweights Samantha Briggs, Ben Smith, Jamie Gold and Emily Bridgers in the Open division, and Mike Egan, Ron Ortiz and Domenico Liviero in the Masters division.

“We’re going to have elite athletes from around the world,” Lindsay confirms. “People are coming from Panama, London and from all over the States. And we have thousands of dollars of prize money up for grabs for male, female and Masters competitors.”

The Pantheon Games are sponsored by Altrient, Inc., the maker of Altrient™ ME™ and Altrient™ C high-performance nutritional supplements. Altrient has made a major commitment to the CrossFit community and has sponsored several major events in 2012, including four CrossFit Regionals, the CrossFit Games and other important competitions throughout the country.

Altrient also sponsors two, top CrossFit athletes – Cheryl Brost, currently ranked 15th in the world, and Matt Chan, the reigning 2nd Fittest Man on Earth.” Brost will be appearing with Altrient at The Pantheon Games while Chan will be enjoying a well-deserved rest after competing in the CrossFit Invitational in London as a member of CrossFit Team USA.

“CrossFit is an amazing culture that shares our values of health, passion and responsibility,” stated Cindy Nachman, CEO of Altrient, Inc. “It’s a perfect relationship that can benefit our company and CrossFitters everywhere. The Pantheon Games is an ideal showcase for CrossFit’s ‘prepared-for-everything’ philosophy, as well as our products. We’re looking forward to a long and productive partnership with The Pantheon Games.”

Altrient will host athletes, vendors and special guests at its VIP Lounge, providing complimentary food, beverages and samples of its natural energy and muscle recovery products. The company will also video the events and interviews with guest athletes, as well as meet with CrossFit affiliate owners and enthusiasts from the South Florida area.

Lindsay is expecting more than 3,000 spectators to attend The Pantheon Games. Tickets are available online, starting at just $8.00.
