Video of the Day: Handstand Walking

For many CrossFitter’s, the thought of having to do handstand push ups in a WOD can immediately bring a grimace to their face.

The exercise is tough, requires a lot of strength and focuses on a muscle group that fatigues faster than others.

There are the rare few, however, who find the movement easy and natural, and pick up the balance side of things really fast.

For those athletes, the next step after the handstand push-up, is the handstand walk. Walking on your hands, requires a lot more balance, core strength and can cause a few bruises if you fall the wrong way.

All in all though, it’s a great exercise that really works those abs and arms.

While it looks tough, the reality is athletes generally do pick up the movement quite quickly and improvement can be very rapid. All it takes is a little bit of practice and you will be well on your way to mastering this move in no time.

Who knows, maybe one day you’ll be as good as this guy??!!
