Once again CrossFit is increasing the prizemoney at the CrossFit Games, with the 2015 purse to grow to over US $2 million.
The amount of money up for grabs has increased steadily over the past few years, and this year will see the winnings go up for men and women who finish in second place through to 19th place. In addition winnings for the top five Games teams, top five regional teams and top five men and women at regionals will also increase.
Here is a look at how much money is up for grabs for competitors in 2015:
Individuals
Just like 2014, the fittest man and woman will earn US $275,000 but the winnings will increase substantially for the other podium finishers. Second place will now get US $90,000 (a fair contrast to the $500 Gift Card Annie Thorisdottir and Rich Froning received in 2010), while third place will pocket US $60,000. The fourth place finisher will also see a US $10,000 increase.
