It’s not everyday you get to see police cars involved in a WOD, but last Sunday we saw exactly that with the 12th annual CrossFit SacTown Throwdown taking place in Roseville.
In case you’re not familiar with the event, the Throwdown takes place every year in Northern California and is a great chance for affiliates to win the bragging rights of being named the best box in the state.
This year, 100 teams took part in the competition, with a ‘final eight’ battling it out on Sunday for the title.
The final day had some very gruelling workouts, with teams of four having to pull a 4,000 pound Police patrol car around the track at the Placer County Fairgrounds and having to take part in a very intense chipper WOD including kettle-bells and pull ups.
In the end Rocklin CF took out the number one spot, with CF Santa Cruz and CF Avalanche rounding out the podium. The event was also a good chance to get a sneak peak of some Nor-Cal Crossfitters ahead of the CrossFit Games.
