CrossFit Announces New Online Judging Course for 2013

Late last year CrossFit released its new Rule Book for 2013 which had a number of rule changes for the upcoming CrossFit season.

One of the changes was the introduction of a ‘Judging Course’ for those who wish to be a judge at the 2013 Regionals/Games, or for Affiliate Owners hoping to validate scores during the Open.

Now, CrossFit has just revealed the details of this ‘Judging Course’.

The 2013 CrossFit Judges Course is now available online, and can be taken as many times as it takes to pass.

The cost of the course is $10 and is expected to take around 60 – 90 minutes to complete.

The course is designed to take people through the basics of being a good judge, and includes information on competition rules, regulations and common movements.

Each module of the course consists of a number of mulitple choice and written questions to test each aspiring judges knowledge.

Now, for this year, the course is recommended, but not required for those wishing to judge during the CrossFit Open. However, as mentioned earlier, any person wishing to judge at the Regionals needs to pass it.

At the same time, if you do not wish to be a judge at either the Open or at the Regionals, the course is still a great way to learn more about CrossFit, and the subtleties of human movement and performance.
