The CrossFit Regionals are now officially over for 2012, with the North West event wrapping up.
It was the men’s division that had all the drama on the final day. Heading into the final event, Austin Stack was the leader and looked destined to be crowned Regional Champ. However the 27 year old struggled through the muscle ups and finished a distant 16th in the workout, to slide all the way back to third spot overall.
Yurii Hanson was the eventual winner, finishing one point ahead of Kevin Simons. Last year’s winner Jesse Disch finished fourth overall, missing out on a return to the Home Depot Center.
In the females comp, it ended up being a two horse race, with Cheryl Brost and last years winner Samantha Petersen going head to head for the title. The pair couldn’t be split in the final workout, with both women tying for first, meaning Brost would win the overall event by one point.
Allison King claimed the final qualifying spot, leapfrogging Alexandra Seal in the final event.
CrossFit Intensify took out the teams division, with CrossFit Fort Vancouver and Spokane Valley rounding out the top three.
