As we all know, the new year is all about new beginnings and resolutions.
With the 2013 CrossFit season about to get underway, we caught up with some of the world’s best known CrossFitter’s to find out what their resolutions are for 2013.
Today we reveal former CrossFit Games competitor and leading CrossFit coach CJ Martin.
CJ Martin stumbled across CrossFit on the internet back in 2006. A year and a half later he quit his job as a lawyer to start up his own gym, CrossFit Invictus.
Widely regarded as one of the most famous CrossFit gyms in the world, CrossFit Invictus has grown from just 20 members in 2009, to well over 300 today.
In 2011, CrossFit Invictus won the Reebok CrossFit Open Participation challenge, registering the most competitors from a single box in the world with 221 athletes.
The whole time, CJ Martin has been the inspiration and the brains behind keeping the gym so successful.
A Level 2 CrossFit instructor, and a former member of the CrossFit HQ training staff, CJ Martin is also the coach of many top CrossFitters including Josh Bridges, Jenny LaBaw, Elyse Umeda and Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet to name a few.
Here is his New Year’s Resolution for 2013:
“As a business owner and coach, my new year’s resolutions all revolve around managing my time in a way that prioritizes the things that are most important to me. So my resolution is: ‘Define the next day’s priorities at the end of the day, exercise discipline in accomplishing the stated priorities before tending to any other tasks, and put work away by 9:00 p.m. so that I can relax, sleep and be at my best the next day’.”
We’ll reveal another top CrossFitter’s New Year’s resolution tomorrow.
