Ryan Lochte was one of the stand out names at this years London 2012 Olympics. Lochte ended up taking home a gold in the 400-meter individual medley and the 4×200-meter freestyle team, silver in US 4×100-meter freestyle relay team and the 200-meter individual medley, and a bronze in 200-meter backstroke.
Lochte’s five medals at London increased his overall Olympic medals to 11, leaving him time in the medal tally with Mark Spitz and Matt Biondi, just behind Michael Phelps.
What is interesting to see is the training Lochte has been using in the leadup to London. Driven by his desire to succeed, he worked with University of Florida’s Matt DeLancy, a strength and conditioning coach.
It is interested to see what elite athletes are using in the training regime especially when they incorporate many movements CrossFitter live by. If you can get past the very obvious Gatorade plugs and adverts, the videos are quite interesting.
