The first ever CrossFit Invitational proved to be a huge hit when it took place in London in 2012.
Thousands of fans turned out to the ExCel Center in October to check out the inaugural competition, and see Team USA triumph over Team Europe.
At this stage we are not sure if the CrossFit Invitational will be making a return in 2013, but going on the success from last year, we can only assume it will be.
Now, with so many top CrossFitters hailing out of America, if the 2013 CrossFit Invitational was to go ahead, it’s only logic to keep Team USA in the event. However, who should they be competing against?
Should Team Europe return for another crack at Team USA, or should organizers use a different team? Should the event be held in a different country in 2013 and have a team like ‘Team Australia’, or ‘Team South America’ compete?
Or, to make it a little bit more competitive, should it be a combination of all regions top athletes, competing in a ‘Rest of the World’ team?
