We’re 24 hours into workout 12.4 of the 2012 CrossFit Games Open and both the men’s and women’s leaderboards have been completely transformed yet again.
In the men’s section, South American Orlando Trejo leads the field, while in the women’s half Emily Friedman is in the top spot for the second time this Open.
In terms of the workout, we’re still trying to gauge what a good score is, but it’s safe to say that anyone who completes one round has done extremely well. So far only seven men have managed to achieve the feat, while the best female score is still 11 reps short of the mark.
In the first day we’ve already had a bunch of big names already complete the workout, including 2008 champ Jason Khalipa and Blair Morrison, and here’s how the leaderboard’s stand at 12pm Sydney time, 5pm PT:
As she has been doing all Open, it looks like the leader for the past fortnight, Kristan Clever, will be posting her score later in the week, meaning at this stage, she has been replaced in the number one position.
Emily Friedman from the North East region has now re-gained the top position after posting the best score for workout 12.4, with 259 reps. In second place is Kristin King who scored 240 reps, while Keysha Benzing is in third spot (253 reps).
Last year’s winner Annie Thorisdottir is yet to post a score at this stage.
For the first time all Open, a South American is leading the field, with Orlando Trejo in the number one spot. The Peruvian has the fifth best score for the week with 270 reps.
The best score so far in the workout 12.4, however, is by Neal Maddox who managed to get 58 wall balls into the second round of the workout.
2008 Games champion Jason Khalipa, pulled out 298 reps and is now in second spot overall, while Nick Urankar is in third spot after posting the 11th best score with 267 reps.
Last year’s fifth place getter Blair Morrison has also posted a score, and now sits in fifth spot overall after completing 258 reps.
Last week’s leader and 2011 champ Rich Froning Jr. is yet to post a score.
Even though Annie Thorisdottir is yet to complete the workout, CrossFit Reykjavik has moved from fourth on the leaderboard, to number one spot after 24 hours of the workout 12.4.
NorCal CrossFit is in second spot overall while CrossFit NWA rounds out the podium after getting the 6th best score of the week, with a combined total of 1457 reps.
Last week’s leader Valley CrossFit is still yet to post a score for the week, as too is last weeks runner up Brick CrossFit.
The best team score of the week goes to CrossFit Delray Beach, who got 1488 reps combined.
