If you like Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread or any of the other Hostess made treats, now may be your last chance.
Hostess the company behind the famous foods has recently closed 3 bakeries with possibly more closures to come.
The company has said the closure will not affect customers but after filing for it’s second Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January, things are not looking so “sweet” for the company that was established in 1919.
Increased employment costs and the changing diets of American’s are to blame for their recent financial woes. Yet the three closures were due to to a recent employee strike.
Gregory F Rayburn the CEO of Hostess said, “We deeply regret this decision, but we have repeatedly explained that we will close facilities that are no longer able to produce and deliver products because of a work stoppage — and that we will close the entire company if widespread strikes cripple our business.”
