Games Director Dave Castro caught up with Pat Sherwood recently to chat about the 2015 CrossFit Open and what to expect in the Individual competition this year.
In the short interview, Castro talks about the changes to the 2015 CrossFit season and how that will affect athletes during the Open.
“You know you’ve got to step your game up and you’ve got to take the Open seriously,” he said. “In the past there has been a lot of great athletes who just do it [the workouts] once, or just kind of just cruise through and they’re like, ‘all I need to do is qulify for the regional and then at the regional i’ll try’.”
“The margins at the Open are now gonna be so tight so if you don’t give it everything you have in that Open workout, or if you fall down the leaderboard and decide not to do it again later in the weekend and raise your score by two or three reps, that could be the difference between you going to regionals.”
