There is no hiding the fact that Lululemon is one of the most popular brands in the fitness market. Walk into any CrossFit affiliate, yoga studio, or local sporting club and odds are you’ll find someone wearing one of the brand’s items.
For years they have continued to come up with quality and stylish designs that have been well embraced by fitness enthusiasts around the world. However, one criticism that has been consistent with Lululemon is its prices.
For those who have the money to splurge, then it’s probably not a big deal as you are generally getting a high quality product. However, for those on a budget, or athletes who don’t like spending too much on apparel, the price tags can be a real deterrent. For those who don’t know, most Lululemon tops and pants sell for around $100 USD, while many jackets sell for over $200, some as much as $300!
So the question begs, are there any good alternatives out there?
The short answer is yes. But the problem is many of them lack the quality of Lululemon’s apparel. So while you might be paying a lot less for a pair of pants, or a crop top, the quality isn’t as good. The good news, however, is that it appears we now have a quality alternative to Lululemon, which is also more affordable!
Apparel brand {re}vici has been involved in the fitness industry for a few years now, during which they have built a strong reputation of producing high quality, stylish clothing that suits the needs of all kinds of athletes.
Designed by athletes, for athletes, {re}vici has a wide range of apparel, ranging from hats, to jackets, to pants, to shirts. Now, however, they have added additional items to their range including men’s & women’s sweat pants, as well as a new line of women’s capris and shorts.
Being someone who doesn’t like spending much money on clothes, {re}vici’s new range of apparel caught my eye immediately. Not only are their threads similar in appearance and quality to some of Lululemon’s and Athleta’s items, but they are also much more affordable.
I’ve tried a number of their new designs including the men’s Lifestyle Pants, and can honestly say they feel as good as something Lululemon would make. The material feels great, fits comfortably, is non restrictive, allows me a great range of motion, and comes in a stylish design. And, believe it or not, they sell for just $60 USD, nearly $40 less than Lululemon’s Hustle Pant, and nearly $50 under their Kung Fu Pant 2.0.
According to {re}vici, the reason they can offer better pricing is because they’re a leaner company who can take advantage of better manufacturing processes, quality control and don’t take on expensive overhead like their competitors. Because of this, they’re able to bring great, quality products to market and pass on the savings to their customers (us).
In 2015, {re}vici aims to expand its women’s line to include an additional line of capris, booty shorts and an all new speed style short. The brand also has plans to expand its men’s line to include more short options, adding to its already established line of traditional board shorts, and an all new ‘four-way stretch short’.
