After two successful seasons, the Australian Hero Games will be returning once again in 2013!
For the the third year in a row, the competition will be taking place at CrossFit gyms in Australia, and across the world, with all money raised going towards the Commando Welfare Trust.
The Event also hopes to increase public awareness about Commandos and their duty towards their country.
From November 2 – 9, 2013, affiliates will have the opportunity to take part in up to three WOD’s, which will be released later this year.
Last year, athletes were put through two gruelling Hero WODs, ‘Wood’ and ‘Galagher & McDonald’, and this year we could see a third workout added.
After raising a combined total of nearly $100,000 in 2011 and 2012, the Australian Hero Games expects to build on that contribution in 2013.
“We are so excited and honoured to be able to bring such a unique competition back again. The last two years have been fantastic and we could not have done that without the support of an amazing community,” Australian Hero Games director, Jamie Zimmerman says.
“It was because of that support we were able to make a such a large contribution to the Commando Welfare Trust and we are expecting an even better result this year.”
Entry into this years competition is just $30 with the majority of the proceeds once again being donated to the Commando Welfare Trust. Team categories are also available.
